Whatever worktop you have in place, you’ll need to adopt a care routine with that worktop’s material in mind. Looking after a marble surface, for instance, is a very different proposition to looking after a quartz surface. Below you’ll find detailed explanations of how to look after your worktop, whether it’s granite, quartz, marble or limestone.
The granite is already sealed against liquids.
Clean using a cloth and soapy water on a regular basis.
Use furniture polish occasionally to build up a lasting seal.
Bleach based cleaners will not damage the granite.
Use a fine scoured pad to remove dried food etc.
Avoid acidic or abrasive chemicals for example lemon juice.
Oil spills need to be cleaned immediately, if staining occurs try baking soda to remove it.
Follow these simple guidelines and your worktops will look as beautiful as the day it was installed for many years to come.
